The apostles who returned from preaching the gospel reported in detail to Jesus what they had done and taught, and to them, who did not even have time to eat because there were many coming and going, Jesus said, “Come aside by yourselves to a deserted place and rest a while” (Mark 6:31). The Lord did not only look at the work the disciples had carried out, but also knew that the disciples doing that work needed rest. Those entrusted with the Lord’s work are also people who feel fatigue and must receive care.
