The Gospel of Mark Sermon series you are now listening to covers all sixteen chapters of the Gospel of Mark across two volumes. This first volume covers chapters one through eight. The content consists of sermons by Pastor Paul C. Jong.
Mark chapters 1–8 lead us to the confession, “You are the Christ” (Mark 8:29).
Christ means ‘the Anointed One.’ Jesus is the King who rules over us, the High Priest who remits sins, and the Prophet who preaches the truth of salvation. Jesus, the High Priest, had all the sins of the world, including the sins of our whole lifetime, transferred to Him once and for all through the baptism He received from John. Bearing those sins, He shed His blood and died on the Cross, thereby receiving the judgment for sin in our place, and He rose again from death.
