Of what happened after He fed the multitude, the Bible tells us, “Immediately He made His disciples get into the boat and go before Him to the other side, to Bethsaida, while He sent the multitude away” (Mark 6:45). The disciples did not leave as they pleased but went the way the Lord told them to go, yet on that way the wind blew against them, and the disciples strained at the oars. Since there are difficulties like this even on the way of following the word of the Lord, this passage makes us lay down the expectation that if we obey, only a favorable wind will always blow.
