The Bible records, “Now after John was put in prison, Jesus came to Galilee, preaching the gospel of the kingdom of God” (Mark 1:14). Even though John’s activity was blocked, God’s promise was not interrupted. That is because the Savior whom John had pointed to was Himself speaking to the people. Jesus accomplished the work that had been prepared through a man and preached the good news of the kingdom of God.
