Simon and Andrew were casting a net into the sea, and James and John were mending their nets in the boat. Jesus saw them and called them. The way of the disciples did not begin with their setting out to obtain high offices by themselves, but with the Lord coming to people who were working and giving them a new purpose in life. Knowing who the One who calls is and accepting His word is the starting point of a disciple.
