This word is about something that happened after Jesus had spoken the parable of the sower and various other parables. The Lord gathered the disciples and the people by the sea and taught them, and when He had finished speaking the parable of the sower and the various parables, the sun had gone down. Since the sun had gone down, He now wanted to go to the village on the other side of the sea. This sea is the Sea of Galilee. It is called a sea because it is so large, and in the old days, since transportation was inconvenient, to go to the village on the other side one had to walk all the way around it for more than a day. So, when evening came, the disciples took Jesus into the boat and crossed over.
