From Mark chapter 4, verse 1, up to this passage is what the Lord spoke about the parable of the sower. Whenever Jesus was on this earth speaking the word and doing the work of God, people gathered in huge crowds. So many gathered that they could not fit in one place, in one building. The sick sought to be healed of their diseases, those who had sin sought to receive the remission of sins, and in this way everyone sought to tell Jesus their own wishes and have them resolved; that is why so many gathered.
